Post-event-blues

Do you ever feel a sense of loss after you have completed a long term goal? Like you're in limbo and not sure what to do with yourself? I am feeling a little like that at the moment.

I love the lead up to a race and all the hard training and preparation in the months prior, all with the big event in mind. That training program is your bible and you stick to it religiously...

And then the big day comes, and you run your race or complete that challenge!

It's everything you hoped....

and then....

nothing.

You're left wondering what to do with yourself. Yeah, that. That's how I am feeling....

Savvy-Delights Retreat Layouts

I was lucky enough to spend an extra long weekend at Kiah Ridge, Tahmoor for the annual Savvy-Delights Scrapbooking Retreat! Despite being unwell for the first 2 days, I still managed to get 15 layouts, 4 double Smash pages, an 8km run, catch up with some fantastic scrappy friends and have time to relax!

What I love about retreat is being inspired by all the creative people - these ladies are so talented!

Here are a few of the layouts I managed to put together :)

1. Life is good - I've had this film roll chipboard in my stash for so long! I think it works well with these photos of Anthony and I at a wedding...

2. Crazy Kids - Using a few templates borrowed from some lovely ladies on my table... and learning to put different media and colours together to create interesting patterns. These photos were taken when we took the boys out for dinner... Love their funny faces!!

3. Best Present Ever - This was an IB sketch. I love these photos of Mason after he received his keyboard for his birthday!

4. Homemade Babycino - again, ideas for this layout were taken from all the gorgeous layouts hanging up around the scrap hall!

5. I love you - I had to try not to cry while putting this one together of my beautiful laborador, Sully who passed away this year in June.

Hope you like them :)

A few new inspiring sketches :)

Yes, I know, I know... late again! So, I will get right to the point.

Here is Inspired Blueprints sketch #94, a simple but elegant sketch using one 5x7 portrait photo and embellished with scattered flowers.

I do love scrapbooking with flowers but as I have two boys, I don't like to use flowers too often, so with this sketch, I used mainly circles to embelish...

Sketch #96 is another one photo sketch, this time using a 4x4 photo.

And my take.... went a little crazy with the black paint there.. oops!

I always say I will blog more often and for some reason or another, it just doesn't happen. So this time, I will just say that I will try my best :)

Oh and go check out the inspired blueprints blog for more scrappy inspiration and to find out how to enter to win fantastic prizes!

Race aftermath

I love that feeling after a race when you know you have run hard, you've just had a shower and are curled up under a blanket in front of the TV in a nice warm house.... yeh that!

Bliss!

Just thought I'd share :)

Inspired much?!

A bit late with this sketch, it's #92 from Inspired Blueprints:

I decided to go Christmassy for this one after purchasing some Christmas papers from the Storyboard retreat. Here is my take:

There will be new sketches up at the Inspired Blueprints blog very very soon so watch this space :)

Hellooooooo!!! Another gorgeous sketch from Inspired Blueprints is up.... actually there's 2 more up at the blog. This one is Sketch #90:

My take is a fave page of mine. I used different coloured glimmer mist to create a rainbow effect over the gear patterns. But I can't take the credit for that idea... my bestie Sar used this technique on one of her pages so it is actually scraplifted lol... but that's the beauty of scrapbooking, you can use lots of different ideas from other pages to create your own unique layout!

For more inspiring ideas, go check out what the design team has come up with... and have a look at Sketch #91 while you're there! You won't be disappointed :)

I promise to share my layouts from the Storyboards kit retreat that I went to last month in my next post, I just have to get used to this new computer and windows 8... eeeek!!
